The lake open/close time changes weekly.What this means to the fisherman is, regardless if the gate is locked or not, you cannot fish before the lake opening time, and you must be off the property by the lake closing time. Game wardens patrol the lakes regularly and they are strict about the gate being locked on time while they are there. If for some reason the gate is not locked right at 8:15 ( or the closing time for that week) you still must be off the property at that time or you will be given a citation.   We've had several lately that are leaving the lake area late. There is a sign to the left of our office door that gives you the closing time. The closing time is what time you have to be out the gate and off the property, it does not mean the time you actually leave the fishing lake. Our TWRA officers are beginning to work the lake late at night so please be aware of the time!   Happy fishing, Niece   Attention- Golden Eye Lake has been re-opened temporarily. We are advising NOT to try to back your own boat trailer on that ramp. It is still very low and muddy.
